Upgraded to Wordpress 2.6

yay! at last. AloneinHome.com had been upgraded to Wordpress 2.6!! :party:

Alhamdulillah

I still new in using Wordpress and started AloneinHome.com with Wordpress 2.5.1

Suddenly, the latest version - Wordpress 2.6 had been released.

“oh no. what should i do??” :confused:

I tried to find out how to upgrade to version 2.6 but.. er.. it’s manual upgrade.. and uh-huh.. it’s quite hard.. you have to..

- download the latest wordpress version
- backup your database and files
- deactivate the plugin and have to remember them. oh. sheesh. i don’t wanna do that.
- delete old wordpress files except certain important files
- upload new wordpress files
- upgrade, reactivate plugin, configure and bla, bla, bla.

but how i managed to upgrade? jeng3. some of you surely know this.

WORDPRESS AUTOMATIC UPGRADE PLUGIN

Wordpress Automatic Upgrade allows a user to automatically upgrade the wordpress installation to the latest one provided by wordpress.org using the 5 steps provided in the wordpress upgrade instructions.

What the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin will do for you?

Backs up the files and makes available a link to download it.
Backs up the database and makes available a link to download it.
Downloads the latest files from http://wordpress.org/latest.zip and unzips it.
Puts the site in maintenance mode.
De-activates all active plugins and remembers it.
Upgrades wordpress files.
Gives you a link that will open in a new window to upgrade installation.
Re-activates the plugins.

In addition:

The plugin can also can be run in a automated mode where in you do not have to click on any links to go to the next step.

How to upgrade your Wordpress with Wordpress Automatic Upgrade:

Download the wordpress-automatic-upgrade.zip file to your local machine.
Unzip the file
Upload wordpress-automatic-upgrade folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

A message will appears in your Wordpress Administration. click it.

Next step? Just follow the wizard and you’re done!

well, maybe this entry is out-dated because i think many wordpress users know about this plugin, but i write this entry because i’m veerrrry happpyyyy!!!!

p/s : the new features looks like the same, just a bit different from the old one.

best la sis..
saya guna blogspot hampir setahun.. (eh.. atau 2 tahun? dah lupa. huhu)

blogspot limited dan leceh skit. itu je.

wordpress ada pelbagai fungsi yang best. pelawat pun senang nak komen.

saya berpindah ke wordpress selepas syam. ikut jejak langkah beliau. hehe

saya pun stil baru dengan wordpress ni. xdela susah sangat sebab guide dan plugin wordpress memang banyak kat internet. googling je mesti jumpa. saya kadang2 merujuk kat kawan2 yang lagi lama guna wordpress.

kesimpulannya, wordpress xsusah, best dan memuaskan hati
tapi xbermakna platform lain macam blogspot xbest. best juga. cuma limited sikit.

yang penting - blogging dapat ramaikan kenalan, boleh buka minda dan bertukar2 fikiran
