Think In Advance

Being the only child for my parents, I admit sometimes I’m too rely on my parents especially on important matters – finance, banking, housing, car, etc. And honestly I feel too comfortable with it.

“You don’t have to think anything. Just study and make us happy,” that’s what my mom said a few years ago.

But the thing has changed. I’m not a school kid anymore. And I’m capable of getting cash through my own efforts. I realized my parents’ perception towards me had changed.

Honestly I feel shocked when my mom asked me these questions one day:

  • How much salary do you expected for yourself?
  • Which type of house do you want to live after marriage?
  • Which model of car do you want to use in the future?
  • How much do you plan to save per month from your salary?

I answered nothing.

My mom smiled and told me – you should think in advance.

It’s like a hard slap. I never think what will happen in the future. I do study but I never plan on my job. I do blogging but I never plan what will I do or how I would manage my sites 4-5 years from now.

We have to think in advance so we could plan what we want to do in the future. Or what we will be.

I guess here are some advantages of thinking in advance:

  • We have the chance to plan our future
  • We can predict what we want to be
  • We know what we want to achieve

That’s it. Think in advance!

p.s: Got call letter from National Service. Don’t they have the record of any candidate still studying? Absurd.

Writing down goals or saying them out loud makes them seem more real, like you’re held more accountable for them – which ultimately makes you work harder. Try it…it works!!

Nice tips. Making the goal visible will motivate us to accomplish them and this is something good. Thanks for your advice!

Visualization is important too in planning, Miss Whois as you can see and imagine what you want to get and achieve. But we have to make sure it’s realistic.

Your mom is a smart woman. I wish I was asked those questions when I was your age!

You have enough time to make up your mind, fortunately!

It is not always easy to think about the future. We can’t predict it. However, planning far ahead of time can give us lots of chances to think about what we really want to do with our lives. We must have goals so we will have direction. Furthermore, goals motivate us to achieve something.

While planning forward is good and necessary practice, sometimes it makes us focus too much on our own ability. We predict that our future cannot be secure unless we can control the events and the people around us. This is even more critical when the events and people do not fit or align with our plans.

Successful individual think one step ahead. By thinking in advance, we can have an idea of the possible consequences of our present decisions and actions. It does not only provide direction to our life but at the same time it can save us from unnecessary hurts and failures. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing your insight. Keep it up!.

If we want to attain something worthwhile in the future we must set our goals beforehand or simply think one step ahead. By following this principle, we will surely have a brighter future ahead of us. Somehow, we may ponder the uncertainty of the future but if we have set our goals earlier, then life would be smooth-sailing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
